This replacement cage kit is constructed from 100% .120” Wall DOM tubing. All impact zones are 1.75” OD, while bracing is constructed from 1.5” OD. Windshield bars are 1.25” OD DOM to limit intrusion on driver visibility. Grab handles are made from 1” DOM, for a comfortable grip. All mounting brackets are constructed from 3/16” Domex steel, which has a yield Strength of 100 minimum ksi and a tensile strength of 110 minimum ksi.
The kit does require welding, as the original cross member from the OE cage must be transferred over. This allows the retention of the OE visors, microphones, and other electronics that would be lost otherwise. The front mounts are also welded into the Jeep and made removeable using tube couplers.
This design allows the use of most OE plastics, including the sound bar and all antennas.
